Three Episcopal priests from Kansas City have asked the West Missouri diocese to approve a resolution supporting all stem-cell research as outlined in Amendment 2 on the November ballot.

Burnham Institute who recently committed to opening a new facility in Orlando, Florida has achieved positive results on dystrophic mice with a class of drugs previously being studied for cancer treatment.

This company says they have stumbled upon a treatment for some cardiac valve issues while conducting stem cell tests for other issues.  If true, this would be a prime example of the benefits of pure research uninhibited by governmental influence! Heres' a result that was probably counterintuitive to most of us:  There are eight different Americas with eight different sets of actuarial tables with a spread of twenty years between the shortest and the longest lived.  Oh, and by the way, counter to common belief, rich white guys don't live the longest, even though they have the greatest access to "good healtcare".  Original Story

Reading this story of Tony Huesman, who has survived another 28 years due to his artificial heart, we have a clear example of technology directly improving, actually extending, one individuals life. Two weeks after publishing Immortality International, Inc.'s mission statement: 'the South Korea government starts funding search for fountain of youth(Updated 11:58 a.m.) (Chinapost.com.tw) ' The South Korean government is funding the search for the fountain of youth. The Science and Technology Ministry will provide 20 billion won (US$20.9 million; €16.31 million) to scientists over the next nine years for research to develop technologies to help people avoid the effects of aging.
